The 69th Eurovision Song Contest took place from May 13th to 17th, 2025, at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, following Nemo’s victory for Switzerland at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö with the song „The Code.“ This was the third time Switzerland had hosted the ESC, after Lugano in 1956 and Lausanne in 1989.

Countertenor JJ won for Austria with the song „Wasted Love.“ This was the country’s third victory in the competition, following wins in 1966 and 2014. JJ achieved first place in the jury vote and fourth place in the televote. Yuval Raphael came in second in the competition, winning the public vote for Israel with her song „New Day Will Rise“. Tommy Cash, representing Estonia, took third place with his song „Espresso Macchiato“.
